    One of three inbound northbound lanes is closed. A second lane may be closed as needed except 6am to 11am Monday to Friday. In addition the Hamilton Avenue Clinton Street entrance to the Battery Tunnel is closed as needed with the exception of 6am to 11am Monday to Friday when one lane is maintained for traffic. These closures are necessary to facilitate NYSDOT pile driving and ramp work until the end of January 2, 2009.

    The inbound exit to Trinity Place is closed Monday to Friday 6am to 10am and 3pm to 7pm. There are three lanes inbound and one lane outbound 6am to 10am weekdays. As of November 27th, 2007 on weekdays from 4pm to 7pm there are two lanes outbound to Brooklyn in the south tube plus one contra flow lane in the north tube to Brooklyn. During these times one lane in north tube will be open inbound to Manhattan. One of two lanes in each direction may be intermittently closed as needed 10:00am to 3pm weekdays. One of two tubes may be closed as needed with two way traffic maintained in the open tube 10pm 5:30am, Sunday nights to Friday mornings. These lane closures are to facilitate MTA work.

  • Closed, on CARLTON AVE BRG at PACIFIC ST

    This bridge was closed January 23, 2008. Motorists and bicyclist should use alternate route or follow posted detour. Pedestrians must use the adjacent 6th Avenue Bridge, or Vanderbilt Avenue. This is a long term project to upgrade the LIRR yard and construct a new bridge. This work is being performed by a private developer contractor and scheduled for completion January 2010.

    The eastbound segment of this roadway as well as access to Ryders Alley is closed to facilitate long term capital water main and roadway work by NYCDDC through June 2009.

There are three lanes westbound and two eastbound 10am to 3pm Monday to Friday. No trucks are permitted on the North Upper westbound roadway from 5am to 3pm Monday to Friday. Overnight Monday to Friday from 3pm to 5am the next day, there are five lanes eastbound and two lanes westbound. There are five lanes westbound to Manhattan and two lanes eastbound to Brooklyn over the weekend from 9pm Friday to 10am Monday. The north bikeway is open, and the south walkway open at all times. One lane on the lower roadway is closed at all times. Lane closures may occur on weekends and overnight for maintenance and construction activity on a as needed basis through April 2009.

These lane closures are required to facilitate PANY NJ construction activity and maintenance. One of two lanes may be closed eastbound to New York Sunday night to Friday mornings 11pm to 5am, and Saturday 12:01am to 8am. The eastbound inbound tunnel to Manhattan will be closed 1am to 8am Saturday and Sunday through November 23, 2008 to facilitate roadway work.

    The North Inner Lower Roadway is Manhattan bound with access from Queens Plaza North to Second Avenue and East 60th Street. The South Inner Lower roadway is Queens bound with access from 2nd Avenue to Queens Plaza South. Trucks are allowed on the lower inner roadways only. Trucks are prohibited from the upper and outer roadways. The North Upper Roadway is Manhattan bound at all times. Access is to East 62nd Street East 63rd Street in Manhattan from Thomson Avenue, 21st Street at Queens Plaza North, and 11th Street at Queens Plaza South in Queens. The South Upper Roadway is Queens bound except from 5:30 am to 11am weekdays when the roadway is reversed and accommodates the Manhattan bound high occupancy vehicle HOV lane Manhattan bound high occupancy vehicle HOV lane containing two or more people from 6am to 10am, Monday to Friday. Access is to East 58th Street East 57th Street in Manhattan from Thomson Avenue or 21st Street at 43rd Avenue in Queens.
